If you think that church is boring and irrelevant, think again. Messy Church is church with a difference. It is an activity based service, which meets twice a month at St Martin’s. The emphasis is on learning about God in a fun and creative way, and families enjoying quality time together.
When Does Messy Church Take Place?
Messy Church takes place on the first and third Sunday of every month (except August).
Messy Morning is on the first Sunday of the month. At 9.30am we start with Tea and Toast, and then at 10am the children stay in the hall for Messy Morning. The adults have the option of either staying with their children in the hall or joining the congregation in the church for the Family Communion Service. Those attending Messy Church in the hall, then join the congregation in church for the last ten minutes of the service.
Messy Church takes place on the third Sunday of the month from 4pm to 5pm.
What happens at Messy Church?
At Messy Morning and Messy Church, there are activities based around a particular theme, where people of all ages are encouraged to come and be involved, or sit and relax with a cup of tea or coffee.
